October 2026 - Direction Provider Deprecated
The Direction Provider utility is deprecated in favor of shadcn/ui's Direction component.
The Direction Provider utility is deprecated. shadcn/ui now ships a Direction component with the same DirectionProvider and useDirection API, and Dice UI components follow it.
Migrating
Install shadcn/ui's Direction component:
pnpm dlx shadcn@latest add directionThen update your imports:
import { DirectionProvider } from "@/components/direction-provider";
import { DirectionProvider } from "@/components/ui/direction"; @diceui/direction-provider still installs for now and will be removed in a future release.
